Hello, and welcome to the Christmas 2024 issue of Wave Magazine!

As we get ready to toast the end of this year and welcome 2025, it’s a great time to reflect on what has been another busy year for the Waverley community.

We’re seeing progress on Olive Lane and Highwall Park, adding some much needed retail and green space to the development, and we’re all waiting with anticipation to see who will be taking residence in the retail units, which I’m sure we will get to hear about early next year.

Before then, there’s plenty to keep everyone occupied over the Christmas period with the Waverley Christmas Tree Light Switch on taking place on Saturday 7th December at Central Park. There’s lots on for all the family, so please come on down if you are available. A huge thanks to the Waverley Community Council for pulling this together, and to everyone else who is supporting the event, I’m sure it will be one to remember!

You will have noticed the extension to Waverley Junior Academy is starting to take shape. We have an exclusive in this issue of Wave with the main contractor, O&P Construction as they, and the school themselves, shed some light on what to expect when this is completed in time for the September 2025 school year.

Don’t forget, if you run a community group in and around Waverley there is an option to apply for up to £3k worth of funding through the Harworth Community Support Fund. Check out the link in the Harworth update for details.

All that is left, is to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved with Wave Magazine in 2024, from our sponsor and advertisers, to our regular contributors and of course, you, our readers. We appreciate each and every one of you!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
