Hello Waverley, and welcome to Issue 4 of Wave Magazine! What a difference a couple of months

makes, on the front cover of the ‘spring’ issue we had snow and now (at the time of writing) we’re basking in glorious sunshine. I only hope by the time you read this I haven’t jinxed the weather with my comments and that summer is still here!

Continuing their front cover sponsorship, I would like to thank Harworth Group once again for their support. I really hope you like their latest contribution with some ‘blast from the past’ photos of the

Orgreave coking plant, and how it has transformed into the vibrant community it is today.

Me and my family have seen a lot of progress since we moved to Waverley over 5 years ago and it’s almost hard to believe now that there weren’t even any houses built across the road from us when we first arrived! I’m sure a lot of our readers will feel the same, no doubt having driven past the site for many years on the commute to work not giving a second thought to the fact that you might actually be living here one day.

The Waverley Events Committee have been working hard to help bring the community together, organising the fantastic Great Get Together in June which so many of you attended. The community spirit we have got here is like nothing we have experienced before and makes us so thankful that we are here and part of it. There’s more great events coming up over the next few months, starting with the Scarecrow Festival in September, which you will find more details about in this issue.

Finally, I can’t close off the introduction without expressing my thanks once again to all our advertisers who make the magazine possible. Their support is valued and appreciated more than you can imagine, so if you spot something that interests you from any of our advertisers do get in touch

with them!

As ever, your feedback is welcome, and if you would like to get in touch about Wave Magazine please feel free to drop me a line to wavemagazine@hallmarkbranding.co.uk

Thanks for reading!
