As the dust begins to settle on the Jubilee celebrations, it’s almost time to look forward to the summer holidays after what has been a whirlwind first half of the year!
We hope you enjoyed the extended bank holiday weekend, and the Waverley Platinum Jubilee event held in Central Park but the wonderful Waverley Events team. It was great to see so many new faces getting involved and a huge thank you to everyone that helped make it happen. As we’re hot off the press after the event we’ve been able to include some photos and a round up of the prize winners. Keep an eye out on the Waverley Events Facebook page for more info!
You will have no doubt seen the Waverley Buds team at the Jubilee celebrations. There’s lots of activity going on at the community garden, and our update from magazine sponsor Harworth delivers more good news on the project. There’s also news on the riverside footpath, Learn to Ride bike track and the road works on Highfield Lane – see page 4 for all the latest.
On page 8 we have our regular update from the Community Council, who this month focus their attention on the neighbourhood watch scheme and speed-watch initiative, as well as their continued work alongside Waverley Junior Academy.
We’re always interested to see what’s happening with our near neighbours over the road at the AMP too and have been able to share some recent news from some of the businesses there which you will find in this issue.
Thank you to everyone who has got involved in this issue of Wave, your support is always appreciated, and we’re delighted to share your news, reviews, products, and services. If you would like any further info about featuring in Wave Magazine, please drop us a line to brendan@wavemagazine.co.uk.
