Hello, and welcome to the October 2025 issue of Wave Magazine!

It’s been another exciting few weeks for Waverley, with new businesses opening their doors and more local events just around the corner.

A big Wave welcome to The Canary Bar, Karobar Indian Restaurant, and Little Olives Nursery who are all now open on Olive Lane. It’s brilliant to see this area coming to life with more places to eat, drink, learn and play. We’re sure these new venues will become firm favourites for many local families.

Also this term, Waverley Junior Academy officially unveiled its brand-new extension, welcoming an extra 200 pupils. We’ve covered the journey of the school’s expansion in previous issues, so it’s great to see it now complete and being enjoyed by children across the community.

Looking ahead, there’s plenty to keep everyone busy between now and Christmas. Waverley Family Forest Fun Days return for October half-term – a great way to enjoy the outdoors as the leaves begin to fall. And don’t forget to pencil Saturday 6th December in your diary for the annual Waverley Christmas Light Switch-On!

Inside this issue, we’ve got some insight features to help you get to know some of your local businesses better, plus our usual round-up of film and music recommendations. And don’t miss a heartwarming story from one of our residents about her personal journey into fostering.

As always, thank you for reading, and enjoy the latest issue.
