Hello, and welcome to the Spring 2025 issue of Wave Magazine!
It’s been a busy couple of months at Waverley since our last issue went out in February, notably the grand opening of Olive Lane and the Annual Residents meeting in March.
We’ll start with the residents meeting, where a lot of key stakeholders in Waverley were there to answer questions about further developments, and shed more light on Olive Lane and Highwall Park in particular. It was great to see many residents come over to our stand for Wave Magazine too, and thank you for the kind words and support you passed on, it is much appreciated! Thanks to Waverley Community Council for organising this event.
On to Olive Lane, we now have the Tesco Express store open, which is already proving popular (even more so when you live quite near to this like I do and you can send your children to do ‘top up’ shops for you!) As a family, we’re really looking forward to seeing more of the units open soon and this becoming a real community hub for Waverley.
What’s coming next? Well, we have the official opening celebration event for Olive Lane taking place on 16th May, organised by our magazine sponsor, Harworth Group, which will be open for everyone to attend from 5pm. Then it’s the annual Waverley Fun Day coming up on 21st June, so please save these dates in your diaries and get involved where you can.
As a final note, I had a message from a Waverley resident who unfortunately had their car stolen from outside their home recently, asking if we can help raise awareness of this. There is a useful link in the Waverley Community Council update to the South Yorkshire Police website which offers advice around home security. I know as a community everyone naturally works together to help with CCTV footage, but please continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help put a stop to this.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy our latest issue.
