Hot off the press for this issue, we have an update from the recent consultation event held by Harworth Group around the revised plans for Olive Lane. This has been causing some great frustration amongst residents, so hopefully this now gives a bit of clarity and timescales for when we should expect to see further progress.

June and July are busy months for events in Waverley as well. We have the annual summer fun day taking place at Waverley Junior Academy on 24th June. The events team are calling out for volunteers to help out on the day – please see their article for more info on how you can get involved.

On 1st July there is another fun day taking place at the Winter Green to raise money for teams in all age groups of Waverley Wanderers FC. As proud sponsors of the team, they have set out a day full of activities for kids (and big kids) with all monies taken from the attractions going straight back into the club.

Later in the month we have the first Waverley Yard Sale on 16th July, so if you have any unwanted items you are looking to sell on you can do this in the comfort of your own front garden! Proceeds from the application fees are going straight into the Waverley Events coffers to help fund future events.

We also have news of a new networking event set up by local business owners, aimed at giving local businesses a platform to meet, mingle and make new contacts. The first Waverley Biz Network event will take place on 14th July at the Winter Green.

Thanks to our regular feature contributors – Waverley Community Council, who provide their latest update on planning applications and support to young families, to our resident film and music critiques for their latest reviews, and also to our advertisers – your support is greatly appreciated!
