The Winter Green in Sheffield is now open, boasting an investment of over £322,000, which has transformed the well-loved family-friendly pub to feature a host of exciting upgrades.

The pub is introducing its innovative “Two Door Pub” concept, now offering a sports bar area and a separate family lounge, creating two distinct spaces: a lively bar for locals and a cosy, family-friendly lounge. Designed to cater to all occasions, The Winter Green brings the community together, offering guests the flexibility to enjoy their ideal experience, with no compromises.

Launch night saw The Chase star, Mark Labbett, better known as “The Beast”, return to his roots to host an interactive pub quiz at his local pub. The event brought together fans, trivia enthusiasts, and locals for an evening of competitive fun and entertainment. Participants battled through multiple quiz rounds, with the top scorers earning the chance to challenge Mark himself in a thrilling live buzzer showdown. The ultimate winner walked away with a cash prize, crowning them champion of the night. After the quiz, guests enjoyed an exclusive meet & greet with Mark, taking photos, sharing stories, and celebrating an unforgettable evening with one of Britain’s favourite quiz icons.

The community hero chosen to pull the first pint at the pub’s opening was Roger Smith, who lives on the estate where the pub is located in Waverley. Dedicated to grassroots football and the local community’s children, Roger has helped develop young players across four age groups and works to raise funds to keep those teams thriving. 

The newly updated bar area features large HD screens to keep guests entertained with all the latest sports action. The space also features a dedicated darts area and pool table, allowing guests to challenge friends, enjoy some friendly competition, and soak up the lively atmosphere.

The Winter Green is a dog-friendly locals’ pub with a community feel. Locals can now drop by for a pint and a bite to eat, celebrating unmissable moments in the heart of the community. The pub continues to serve its much-loved favourites alongside a special festive set menu, featuring Christmas classics such as traditional roast turkey and indulgent desserts like dark chocolate mint tart. With gluten-free and vegan options available, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
