It’s the reunion that no-one thought possible! But Liam, Noel, Bonehead and an as yet unconfirmed

rhythm section will take the stage once more. But what is the fuss all about regarding the 90’s

phenomenon?

Well, let’s look at the context for a start. The ‘Indie’ scene of 1994 was tired, lame and lacking

something. Hard Rock was out of vogue too, with Grunge taking pole position instead. Oasis’ rivals

(according to the press at the time) were the floppy haired Kinks copyists Blur! Hardly competition.

Another reputational construction, was their comparison to The Beatles. I heard more of AC/DC and Slade personally. But either way, their simple songcraft and chiming ES-335’s told us one thing: They were here to bring the rock!

Ok, here’s my top 10 playlist. I know you’re gonna say, Where’s ‘Wonderwall’? Wot, no ‘Don’t Look

Back In Anger’!!? Yeah, yeah. The Musologist dances to the beat of a different drum!

Here goes!
