Learning at Waverley

The nights might be drawing in, and the days might be becoming shorter, but there’s lots to be cheerful about at Waverley.

Pupils have returned to Waverley Primary School Academy after a well-earned summer break and moved into the expanded school. The extension carried out over the summer created six new classrooms, two libraries, new restrooms and a dedicated nursery.

The school can now accommodate up to 200 more pupils overall than in previous years and six new teachers have been appointed for the new term.

Little Olives Day Nursery has sprung to life too, welcoming its first ever cohort at Olive Lane.

The extended school and new nursery will enable more children to live, play and learn in Waverley.  Harworth sends warm wishes to the children and staff as they settle into their new spaces.

Exciting times at Olive Lane

The Canary, a new independent bar, opened its doors mid-September and it has been a real hit with the community.  Offering a range of craft beer, cocktails and exclusive wine, the bar has also brought a range of food venders and even a magician to Olive Lane!

Karobar, an Indian restaurant, has also opened on Olive Lane. The rain cleared just in time on its opening day – allowing the Karobar team to host a street food launch party and welcome guests to the exciting new restaurant.

An independent coffee shop is also set to move into one of the units and we hope to share further details soon.

The car park at Olive Lane has now opened for use.  With construction work ongoing at Olive Lane and nearby, those using the car park should be aware that associated traffic may impact access for limited times.

Automatic number plate recognition cameras will be installed soon, limiting users to a two-hour stay. We recommend all users of the car park familiarise themselves with the car park’s terms of use before they come into effect. Information can be found on signage within the car park.
