Living life at Olive Lane

It’s been fantastic to see those living and working at Waverley visiting Olive Lane over the last month and making use of the new Tesco store.  Over the coming months, more businesses will be opening their doors to the community.

There are plenty of reasons to head down to the new high street in the meantime, as we have lots of exciting things planned.

In March we welcomed Devon’s Kitchen and Farina’s Artisan Pizzas, who hosted food trucks at Olive Lane. Next up is the taco van which will be at Olive Lane on Tuesday 8 April lunchtime from 12-2pm. We’ll be posting some further dates on our Instagram page and on WeAreWaverley.com.

We will also be hosting an opening celebration event on Friday 16 May.  Promising a fun night for the whole community, there will be a variety of delicious street food, a licenced drinks van, hot drinks and desserts, facepainting as well as live musical and family entertainment for all.  We’re really looking forward to it and can’t wait to see residents there!

Elsewhere at Waverley…

Eagle-eyed residents may have noticed the installation of a ‘Little Library’ outside of Waverley Junior Academy.  We hope readers big and small will make use of it, leaving behind books they have enjoyed for others and picking up new reads.

Members of the Harworth team took part in a sunny and productive volunteering day in March, repainting the planters at the Waverley Community Garden, where the Waverley Buds host their Dig and Chat events.

It was great to see so many members of the community at the annual meeting, and we were glad to be able to speak with so many of you.  Time and time again those living and working at Waverley show how invested they are in this community, and we’re proud to be a part of it.
