The doors are open at the new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, and the team is keen to make it feel like part of everyday life at Waverley, not just a place for overnight stays.

Opening just before Christmas 2025, the hotel sits alongside the growing mix of businesses and hospitality venues around Waverley, and it is very much open to the local community. The restaurant and bar welcome walk-ins for lunch and dinner, and you can just pop in for a coffee or a drink without needing to dine. With a relaxed layout, it feels like a standalone restaurant rather than a traditional hotel space.

“We want people from Waverley to see this as their place,” says Emily White, Director of Sales, who brings years of hospitality experience to the role. “Whether that’s meeting friends for coffee, using the terrace in the summer, or hosting a community event, our doors are open.”

Locality is a big part of the ethos. The hotel works with local suppliers wherever possible, from florists to event partners, and is actively looking to host community groups and charity events. Between 11am and 3pm, 20p from every coffee sold goes to charity, with donations supporting Bluebell Wood and a rotating local charity each quarter.

Facilities include meeting room and boardroom hire for up to 12 people, outdoor terrace seating, free parking, and electric car chargers coming soon. Dogs are welcome, complete with a dog menu, and there is also a dedicated children’s menu for diners wishing to bring their whole family.

With plans for live music, community afternoons, and resident discounts on the horizon, Courtyard by Marriott is shaping up to be much more than a hotel, it is becoming a new social hub for the people of Waverley.

Over the coming years, the Waverley development will be home to around 4,000 properties plus further commercial and retail development, so as Waverley grows, so can your business!
