Hello, and welcome to the first 2025 issue of Wave Magazine!

The news we’ve all been waiting for – who’s going to be the occupiers of the retail units on Olive Lane? Well, we now have confirmation that Tesco (not the best kept secret) will be joined by an Opticians, a Nursery, a Restaurant and a Vets (well kept secrets), which is really exciting news for the community and something we’ll be keeping everyone up to date with as official opening dates are announced. Find out who the new occupiers are on page 4 in the Harworth update in this issue of Wave Magazine!

There’s also news on the stalled hotel, which after a long period of inactivity, is now under construction again with a view to opening later in the year, so 2025 is set up to be a big year for getting some much needed infrastructure around Waverley.

If you want to make your voice heard as a resident, the annual residents meeting is taking place at Waverley Junior Academy on the evening of Thursday 20th March where you will be able to meet with various stakeholders (including ourselves here at Wave) at this drop in style event. Further detail is in the Waverley Community Council article on page 7.

We also have an exclusive in this issue of Wave from Skills Street, who are based down the road at Gullivers Valley and will be officially opening their doors in the Spring. Skills Street aims to provide links for young people with employment and skills opportunities across the region.

Thanks as always to our advertisers and contributors. It’s been a really exciting issue for us to put together this month, which we hope you enjoy reading!
