At Rotherham Hospice, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional palliative care with a personal touch, right here in the heart of the Rotherham community. We provide comprehensive, personalised palliative care both in our Inpatient Unit and within the comfort of patients’ homes. Our dedicated team supports individuals and their families throughout their end-of-life journey, offering a range of services including pain management, holistic therapies, and bereavement support.
Guided by our values of collaboration, compassion, excellence, inclusion and vitality, we are committed to ensuring a dignified and fulfilling end-of-life experience, empowering our patients to live their lives wishes. At Rotherham Hospice, we are more than caregivers; we are a vital part of the community, providing a trusted pillar of support and enhancing the quality of life every day.
We have the capacity to care for 14 patients in 24/7, 365 at our in-patient unit at the hospice, as well as caring for hundreds more each year throughout Rotherham with our hospice at home service.
All of our care is given free of charge to all our patients; however it costs over £6 million each year to run the hospice, with only a portion of this being funded from central government. The rest we must raise ourselves with the support of our local community and those touched by our services.
This year, the hospice is once again running our Christmas Tree collection once again in January 2025, and this year we’re aiming to be even bigger and better! For a small donation, hospice volunteers will be collecting real Christmas trees from your post code once all of the festivities have ended and will take it away to be chipped and recycled with a local landscape company,
Garden Do-It-All Maintenance.
This environmentally friendly way of getting rid of your Christmas tree will save you with time and all the hassle of disposing of it yourself, with collections taking place on January 13th, 14th and 15th. Not only this, but all of the donation you give for this service will go towards funding care and supporting the families of Rotherham Hospice patients.
