Hello, and welcome to the Autumn 2024 issue of Wave Magazine!
As everyone gets back into routine again following the summer holidays, it’s time to see what quarter 4 of 2024 has in store for Waverley and the surrounding area. It won’t be long until the Halloween decorations are up, the dare we mention the ‘C’ word yet?! But let’s concentrate on the Autumn first.
You may have noticed further progress being made on Olive Lane, with the Community Centre starting to take shape. Waverley Community Council are running a competition to name the community centre – see their update for details of how to enter! There’s also details about the registration process for the GP centre.
If you are new to the Waverley community, or looking for something new to get involved in, there are lots of community groups you can join and get involved in. Again, see the Waverley Community Council update for details!
If you are already part of a group, Harworth run a Community Support Fund which allows Waverley residents to bid for funding to support their group, but be quick as applications for funding are only open until the end of the year.
With half term on the horizon you might be looking for activities to keep the kids entertained? There’s a cycling workshop taking place at the Waverley Bike Track and the new Arc Cinema is now open in Rotherham centre which is a great experience.
If you’re looking for something to keep you occupied on the no doubt rainy days that are around the corner, there’s some inspiration in our usual film and music reviews. Oasis or Blur? Well it’s Oasis mania at the moment so check out the playlist from the Musologist.
Oh, and save the date for the Waverley Christmas Light Switch on Saturday 7th December. See, we did mention the ‘C’ word!
Thank you to all our advertisers, contributors and news gatherers, your support as always is gratefully received and helps make Wave Magazine what is has evolved to be over the years. If you want to get in touch about anything, please drop us a line to hello@wavemagazine.co.uk
