With this edition of Wave being our summer issue, we look ahead to what’s in store for Waverley and the surrounding area over the next couple of months. Of course, we have just had our summer Get Together with the Waverley Events putting on another fantastic event, but we don’t have long to wait until the next event with the annual Scarecrow Festival coming up in September. This year’s theme is ‘At the Movies’ which I’m sure will get everyone into creative mode once again. Don’t forget to check out some of the events from our advertisers too!

It’s all change for the Residents Association now the Waverley Community Council is fully in place. Getting the RA on board with Wave Magazine was one of the first things I did when setting up the magazine and their updates really helped get Wave off to a good start, so we will always be grateful for their input. Whilst the RA is due to dissolve, we will still get updates from the new Community Council, so it will be business as usual with regards to updates on that front.

One hot topic at present is the building of the local school – Waverley Academy. Many residents (myself included) attended the community briefings, and as a parent with young children the school can’t come soon enough. The promise of the school was one of the main pulling points for my family moving to Waverley so it’s great to finally see some progress on this front. We’ll have regular updates from Waverley Academy in this and future issues of Wave.
